6 Top Tips for Juicy Liver

Further to my previous blog on Living in flow with Spring, here are my 6 top tips for Juicy liver.

Liver – the CEO of your Body Inc.

According to ancient Chinese wisdom, each internal organ in our body corresponds with the other season. The liver and its partner Gall Bladder are the organs of the Spring time. The Emperor’s guide to internal medicine or the Neijing metaphorically calls the liver “the general of an army”. So if your body is a company, I would say that Liver is the CEO of your Body Inc.! Just like a CEO, Liver’s role is to be assertive, strategic, forceful and remain flexible and open at the same time.

Liver controls the healthy flow of energy in our body, detoxification, stores blood. It also rules our fascia/tendons – the network of connective tissues linking our entire body such as tendons, ligaments and muscles.

Below is a summary chart of Liver/Gall Bladder

My 6 top tips for Juicy Liver

1.     Eat Liver- friendly food: Big leafy greens, (e.g. Kale, Chard, Collard greens, Chinese Cabbage, Pak Choy) less fried food, shitake mushrooms, white carrots or daikon. Make a green liver juice-broth!

2. Adopt Liver-friendly cooking style: lightly cooked, quick stir-fry or blanched, salad (fresh)

3. Sleep by 11pm as per your liver time zone

4. If you practice Yin Yoga, it is recommended that you a liver focused practice. Check out Dragonfly 3-way targeting inner groin (liver) below!

5. Cultivate kindness (for you and others). Liver loves a cooling, friendly and happy internal environment! Check out ‘just like me’ mediation below to cultivate kindness!

6. Release your anger. The emotions of anger and frustrations are not liver-friendly. So try to stay calm and give yourself permission to release anger in a safe and responsible way.

We all get angry, it’s normal and the question is more about how we manage our frustrations and anger. e.g. Going for a run, do some Pai Da or tapping, scream into a pillow. Join me for a 6 mins tapping practice below.

Happy Sunflower Spring beautiful souls! I hope this blog will help you to stay juicy in Spring, my friend! You so deserve to live life to the fullest and let love flow! So now it is the time to set your intention for your dreams, and keep your attention on what IS WORKING and not what is NOT WORKING!
